Community Quilts - This is our Guilds major altruistic

project each year. This project supplies

quilts to the little people in the Baker Headstart

Program. Secondly, we present quilts to the

residents of the Douglas T. Jacobson State

Veterans' Nursing Home. Our newest endeavor is

the Deep Creek Rehab & Nursing Center. Last

but not least, we donate quilts to the "For the

Love of Kids" Project. All of the materials are donated

by members of our Guild and by friends of our Guild.

"Each one make one" is our motto, but two or three

        would be better!

Brown Bag -  Each January, participants

     bring pre-determined amounts of

fabric in a brown bag. The "control

person" collects the bags, keeps track

of whose is whose,  and distributes

them back to the participants. The

     participants have until the next

     December to make something lovely

for return to the original owner of the

fabric.  It's fun to find out who you

made something for and also fun to get

     something made for you!

Challenge:  Each April, a challenge is made

to the whole club, to make something

    using defined guidelines.  The following

March, the challenge pieces are hung

during our spring luncheon and members

get to vote for their favorite. The

winner gets to make up the rules for

the challenge for the next year.

Art Quilt Lunch Bunch:  This group meets once each

month to discuss art quilts, color

specifics and ideas for the creation

    of art quilts.

Raffle Quilt: Our raffle quilts have gone

down in history as among the most

beautiful quilts in the world. These

quilts are raffled during our quilt show.

Members all work on creating these quilts

as their skills and time allow.

Order of Fat Quarter: This is a

program begun by our Guild to show our

    appreciation of members who have

consistently gone above and beyond the

call of duty in volunteerism to the

benefit of our club. Awards are given

    each year to members whose

names will be forever listed in our

    membership guide as outstanding

    Guild citizens.

Mystery Quilt:  Beginning in the spring and continuing for 8-9 months, the Chief

Inspector will be giving us clues in the newsletter to solve

this mystery. Will it be a simple misdemeanor or

will it be murder? Pictures of the solutions will be

"uncovered" at the end of this adventure!
